A Role to Play, part 4

Karl: Finally, a wizard.
Jonathan: If only that jerk in town had said which mountain.
Uncle Wizard: Welcome adventurers. Long have I awaited your foretold arrival. Listen now as I impart to you The Plot.

Mike: Go on.
Uncle Wizard: Little did you know, brave warriors, that there is one among you with a dark and mysterious past. It's Jonathan. Many years ago, shortly after his birth, he was abandoned by his parents and left only with a memento of their undying love. Also, his mother was a tree. But this memento holds a dark power! Unbeknownst to anyone but me, it is the key to the great, dark, and poorly defined power that the villain seeks.

Mike: *GASP*
Karl: *GASP*
Jonathan: *EXCLAIM*
Uncle Wizard: Now, please give me the pendant for safekeeping.

Jonathan: Sounds good to me. I don't see how this could possibly be a bad idea.

Mike: *GASP*
Karl: *EXCLAIM*
Jonathan: *GASP*
Uncle Wizard: MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You have fallen into my cunning trap! I am actually your dark uncle! Yes, I am all of your uncles and I am mighty. I dare you to come and face me in my fiery tower if you dare, where I will wait for you to arrive and defeat me just before I complete my evil plot to rule and/or destroy the world and also become God. By the way, the ultimate weapons of power are stored on floors 15, 67, and 1003. But beware, the creatures guarding my tower grow ever stronger as you ascend in a carefully balanced progression designed to prepare you for the final battle.

Mike: Jonathan, where were you keeping that huge pendant this whole time?
Jonathan: Hidden.
Karl: My resolve burns. I will defeat you, Uncle Wizard.
